Credential Evaluator - Position Duties and Responsibilities

Background

The Credential Evaluator program is the method by which evaluations are able to scale up to large numbers of radio operators. By standardizing the evaluation process and distributing evaluation duties among many radio operators across the county, the evaluation program also ensures fairness and impartiality.

Requirements

A Credential Evalautor must:

  • Hold a current Amateur Radio operator license.
  • Never have had your amateur station or operator license suspended or revoked.
  • Be an active status Credentialed operator.
  • Hold a MAC Endorsement.
  • Never have had your Credential status revoked (such as for improper behavior or other cause).
  • Hold at least two Type II credentials; at least three Type II credentials preferred.
  • Be intimately familiar with these documents and able to easily and rapidly find appropriate references in them:

  • Be recommended by the Credential Program Manager (CPM) based on consultation with ADEC staff and other evaluators.
  • Complete a training class on evaluation procedures and commit to taking refresher training periodically.
  • Take part in a mentored evaluation under the supervision of an experienced CE.

Duties and Expectations

  • To maintain status as a CE, evaluators must continue to train and continue to exercise their skills by conducting evaluations.
  • Attend at least one Credential Evaluator training/refresher course per year.
  • Participate in at least one county-level evaluation per year (approved by the Credential Program Manager).
  • Become familiar with and follow the procedures outlined in the Credential Evaluator Handbook (provided before CE training class).
  • Make updates to activities database within 5 days of evalaution.
  • Work closely with CEC or CPM to ensure all evalautions are completed fairly, accurately, documented, and follow standard procedures.
