Background
The Santa Clara County RACES Credentialing Program is managed by the Credential Program Manager (CPM), who is a member of the Santa Clara County ARES/RACES leadership team. The CPM is responsible for the ongoing administration of the program and maintenance of program documentation to include: Credentialing Program Handbook, Performance Standards and Best Practices, Credential Evaluator Handbook, and the Credential Evaluator portion of the scc-ares-races.org website.
Requirements
The Credential Program Manager is expected to:
- Hold at least two Type I Credentials and be a Type 2 Credential Evaluator (E2).
- Be familiar with these documents and ensure the progam follows the policies and standards included:
Duties and Expectations
- Maintain the Credentialing Program Handbook and the Performance Standards and Best Practices Documents.
- Coordinate with the Webmaster and/or perform updates to the Credential Evaluator website pages.
- Process all C4 and Endorsement records within 5 days of receipt and inform the candidate of their status with a copy to their EC.
- When Approved Event requests are received, review them and get back to the requestor within 2 weeks. If they meet all requirements for a Credential Approved Event, update the flag on the events signup page and return a signed copy of the request to the requester. After the event is over review the AAR to make sure it meets the requirements for an approved event.
- Review posts to the Groups.io Credential subgroup and provide appropriate responses as needed.
- Yearly review the records of all credentialed operators to verify that they meet the ongoing participation requirments of the program. This should be done well before the end of the year so participants can be informed of the potential of lossing their crednetials while they still have time to correct the deficit. At the end of the calendar year those who do meet the requirments are to have their credential status removed. They should be informed of the reinstatement process as outlined in the CPH.
- Recruit new Credential Evaluators in consultation with the DEC, ADECs, and other evaluators.
- Conduct an Evaluator Training class as needed to train new evalautors and refresh other evalutors on procedures.
- Work with drill planners to incorporate evaluation opportunities into drills and exercises where appropriate.
- Assigned a Credential Evaluation Coordinator (CEC) for any large event where more than 3-4 evalautors are needed.
