Background
The EOC Documentation and Software Coordinator is a member of the Santa Clara County ARES/RACES leadership team. They report to the DEC/CRO and work as a team with the other ADECs/DCROs to support the goals and objectives of the organization.
Their primary responsibilities involve maintaining documentation and software for operations in the Santa Clara County EOC radio room.
Requirements
- Hold a County DSW and a MAC Endorsement (Background Check).
- Has or will earn the ERO Endorsement to be knowledgeble of operations in the County EOC Radio Room.
- Familiar with installing / uninstalling software on Windows-based computers.
- Working knowledge of troubleshooting technical issues on Windows-based computers, such as hardware drivers, network debugging and configuration, and printers.
- Has an adminstrator-level account on EOC radio room PCs.
Duties and Expectations
- Maintains up-to-date EOC radio room binders for all operating positions, both in electronic form (on Groups.io) and physical form (in radio room binders).
- Solicits feedback from ARES/RACES leadership and radio room operators for improvements to documentation.
- Stays up-to-date on latest operational procedures and ensures changes are incorporated into radio room documentation.
- Maintains a list of PC software needed for operations in the EOC radio room.
- Ensures that PC software is updated on a regular cadence, especially when critical new software (such as Outpost/PackItForms) is released.
