PackItForms
PackItForms is a tool for encoding served agency forms into a compact representation suitable for transmission as a packet message, and then recreating the original form at the receiving end. It was created by John Kristian W6JMK, Peter Amidon KJ6PUN, and Keith Amidon KJ6PUO of Los Altos.
PackItForms is the official standard form encoding and decoding software for SCCo ARES/RACES. It is what we teach in our packet classes. All packet operators are expected to be proficient with it, and all packet stations are expected to have it available.
SCCo packet operators should install PackItForms using the SCCo Packet Installer, which contains versions of
Outpost
and PackItForms pre-configured with SCCo ARES/RACES preferred settings.
When installed this way, it is installed into the C:\PackItForms\Outpost\SCCo
directory.
PackItForms can be integrated with other applications, and can be customized with different forms and behaviors for other agencies.
These installations are typically in a C:\PackItForms\
directory.
The PackItForms user guide can be found in the UserGuide.html
file in the installation directory.
Version information can be found in version.txt
in the installation directory.
PackItForms can be used as a standalone application when Outpost is not available.
To do so, run manual.cmd
in the installation directory.
See the User Guide for more information.
