The forwarding schedule changes from time to time, but is generally something like this:

  • Three times per hour:
    • W1XSC, W2XSC, W3XSC, and W4XSC to each other via AX.25 on 70cm
    • W1XSC, W2XSC, W3XSC, and W4XSC to W6XSC via AX.25 over IP
    • W6XSC to W1XSC, W2XSC, W3XSC, and W4XSC via AX.25 over IP
    • W1XSC and W6XSC to N6RME via Telnet
    • W2XSC to AG6QO via Telnet
    • W2XSC to W6RAY via AX.25 over IP
    • W6XSC to AG6QO via AX.25 over UDP
  • Twice an hour:
    • W4XSC with N0ARY and N6ZX via AX.25 on 1.25m
  • Once an hour:
    • W3XSC with N6ROE via AX.25 over IP

For new links, we prefer AX.25 over RF, for resilience. If an Internet-based link must be used, AX.25 over UDP is better than AX.25 over IP because some ISPs block the latter. Telnet is the least preferable method because JNOS doesn’t log telnet traffic well.

BBS forwarding uses the following protocols:
