***** Note

Cupertino is again holding their July 4th Fireworks Event and is seeking Amateur Radio volunteers to help with communications.  Volunteers will act as eyes-and-ears for the Sheriffs Office and  monitor activity at  the viewing venues, street closures and the launch site.  This is a low-key event ideal for first time volunteers to participate. The event starts with a Bar-B-Que for volunteers.  The operational period is from 16:00 until 22:30 on July 4th.

This is a city activation and all volunteers will also be sworn in as Cupertino DSWs for the event.  The Event Plan and After-Action-Reports from previous years are located at www.CupertinoARES.org/drills.html

This event will count as a Public Service Event for the Santa Clara County Mutual Aid Communicator (MAC) program.  In addition, there will be evaluation opportunities for F1 or N1/N2 levels. Plan on one assignment for the entire event.  Please indicate your preference when you register.  The Evaluation Coordinator for the event is Mark Laubach, K6FJC, k6fjc@arrl.net.  Contact him in advance to coordinate your evaluation at the event.

Participation in this event is open to any ham radio operator.  If you are new to public service events, please be aware that this is a long assignment and you are expected to work the entire event.  Further information can be obtained from sending email to Allan Gontang KD6QPP at kd6qpp@arrl.net

Further information will be forthcoming in email.

NOTE 1: Evaluations will be available only for registered SCC MACs.  If you are not in the MAC program and are interested, please read the information available at the SCC MAC web page http://www.scc-ares-races.org/mac/index.html and consult with your city EC.

NOTE 2: In order to receive MAC credit for this event, all participating County MACs must follow SCC program procedures, including following Resource Net procedures for mobilization and demobilization, filling out all required forms 214, 309, 213, etc. and turning in those forms at the end of the event, as well as sign in and out on the 211.

The following positions are available for this event. You can state your preference when you sign up for the event. The event coordinator will attempt to accommodate your request. Based on the event and its requirements, the event coordinator may move hams to positions other than those requested.
