New to the San Jose ARES/RACES/ACS team? A seasoned veteran in need of a refresher on SJ RACES' practices and procedures? Then the N-M-O is for you!
Please join us at the SJ RACES "New Member Orientation" and learn:
- what ARES, RACES, and ACS are, how they're related, and how they differ.
- basic Emergency Communications radio skills.
- how the SJ RACES team will respond during an emergency.
- what you need to do to make yourself ready to respond to an activation.
- about the various assignments you may be asked to perform.
- about advanced training available to you.
This class is a requirement for team members interested in earning their SJ RACES Responder status and the accompanying "Yellow Shirt" uniform!

The class is scheduled to convene in the Mobile EOC trailer parked on the BFO grounds.
