Event Detail and Sign Up

It is time again for the March of Dimes March for Babies amateur radio communications event.  This year, the event will happen on Saturday 27 April.  The event location will be at the history museum at Kelley Park in San Jose at the corner of Senter Road and Phelan Avenue.  This location is radio friendly which makes the use of HTs extremely good.  As last year, we will be there no later than 7:30am and it will go until about noon.  We will have positions available for waterstops, checkpoints, bicycle, shadow, mobile, and net control.

One of the main reasons for coordinating this event is to train people in a non-emergency situation.  If you know anyone who is a new ham that would like to volunteer, please forward this email to him or her and tell them that no experience is necessary.  If you would like to volunteer, please email at the address below.  Feel free to encourage anyone with little or no experience to join us, as well.  Your continued help is appreciated by me and the March of Dimes team.

Please note this is not a MAC event and support is not being requested by any city.  No MAC evaluations or credit will be available for working this event.  If you want to work the event, you are working it purely for the health and welfare of the March of Dimes event participants.

The following positions are available for this event. You can state your preference when you sign up for the event. The event coordinator will attempt to accommodate your request. Based on the event and its requirements, the event coordinator may move hams to positions other than those requested.
