Introduction to Pre-Release Packet Installer

A new intergrated packet installer is currently being tested and will be available for pre-release soon.  We usually conduct a presentation of the new features when the installer is released for general use.  But this update will include some major new functionality.  So, we're sharing this introduction to better prepare those who are going to try the pre-release version.

We'll cover the new features, some of which may not be obvious at first glance.  And we'll talk about some of the specific areas we'd like help testing.  Anyone that plans to use the pre-release version is strongly encouraged to attend (or watch the recording).

Intended Participants:

  • All city and county leadership (DEC, ADEC, EC, AEC)
  • All Santa Clara County packet system users
  • Anyone who is considering operating packet within the next year
  • Anyone who supervises or interacts with packet users, such as shift supervisors or traffic managers in the radio room, or hospital net participants (it's important to understand what capabilities exist in order to make decisions about message routing)

Prerequisite:

Introduction to New Message Handling Procedures
