Training Net - Message Passing Practice

Date: 05/21/19 Start: 8:30 PM End: 9:15 PM Location: Resource Net Repeaters
Credential Credit (What's this?): No

This is the monthly Message Passing Training Net held on the third Tuesday of each month.

The training net will be be held on the Resource Net Repeaters (AA6BT 146.115, N6NAC 444.625, and W6ASH 440.800) which will be linked for the net.

This net will consist of using the new Radio Routing Slip.  This activity will be beginner level for the first two messages and moderate for the third message. Simple Prowords may be used. Read the job description for the positions. We will take participants in the order noted.

If you have volunteered in previous nets please let others have an opportunity to send and receive messages.  If positions are still open a few days before the net, then at that time previous senders/receivers may sign up.

Expected Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

It is recommended that you have taken the Message Passing class to participate as an active participant as a message sender or receiver; but, is not required if you have sufficient experience and understanding of SCCo message passing procedures, techniques and prowords.

This net will focus on the new Radio Routing Slip.  You should at a minimum review the Message Passing Class Slides #94-107 and #112-116 prior to the net.  Additionally the Introduction to New Message Handling Procedures webinar from time 35:10 to 43:50 will also be helpful.  Message senders/receivers will be given a critique from the moderator on their techniques and use of procedures.

Anyone wishing to receive pre-event communications (plans for the net, advance look at messages to be used, etc.) should sign up. While not required, sign ups are encouraged.  Everyone is encouraged to copy the messages being sent for practice.

You will need several blank Radio Routing Slips,  one ICS-213RR form and two Command Post Meal Request forms.

The following positions are available for this event. You can state your preference when you sign up for the event. The event coordinator will attempt to accommodate your request. Based on the event and its requirements, the event coordinator may move hams to positions other than those requested.
