Countywide Exercise & SET • Shadow-Experienced

Overall Event:  This is a county-wide communications exercise focused on emergency communications.  It is designed to provide participants with valuable in-field operating experience.  It will include several fun and challenging assignments.  This event will also serve as our annual ARRL Simulated Emergency Test (SET) drill for 2019.

Scenario:  Are you familiar with shadowing but want more practice? If you have been a shadow before, we will give you the opportunity to work at this event where we can pair you up with one of the event staff principals who have an intermediate level of radio traffic or move around between locations. This would simulate the conditions during a real event at a command post or shelter.

Please plan for the duration of an assignment to be about one hour, but you could stay on the job longer if we don't have more operators lined up requesting to take their turn. This activity is the equivalent of a "pop up practice" but we provide the principals and an event net.
 
Credential Evals:  If you would like a credential evaluation for S3 or S2, please sign up accordingly and plan for at least a one and a half hour "shift" including assignment briefing, meet & great with principal, shift debrief.  Schedules will most likely match those of event staff.

DSW:  You need a County DSW registration to participate. If you do not have a valid County DSW registration you will be able to register for DSW at the event.
